Chosen with Purpose
Our Ingredients
We select ingredients for their function, their history of use, and the experience they create in the finished product.
Our formulas begin with recognizable materials: tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, beeswax, plant oils, mineral salts, oats, clays, soy wax, and thoughtfully composed essential-oil blends. Each ingredient has a role to play—helping cleanse, soften, condition, protect, scent, structure, or preserve the character of a product.
We do not believe a longer ingredient list necessarily makes a better formula. Often, a few well-chosen materials can do the job more honestly and effectively than a crowded label filled with additions that contribute little.
Familiar ingredients. Thoughtful roles.
A Practical Approach
That does not mean every Stillwater product is identical in philosophy or formulation. A soap needs different qualities than a candle. A face balm requires a different balance than a beard balm. A mineral soak should dissolve and disperse differently than a body scrub. We approach each formula according to its purpose rather than forcing every product into the same definition of simplicity.
Some ingredients connect us directly to older traditions of home and body care. Others help us improve texture, consistency, or ease of use. Together, they allow us to create goods that feel grounded, practical, and thoughtfully made.
